Welcome to the Compass Project |
|
The Compass Project has been initiated due to the fact that information regarding HIV-prevalence, distribution and service delivery information for municipal areas is scarce. The Compass Project believes that an effective response to the HIV epidemic requires a coordinated mobilization of all resources in a specific community. In order to better address the HIV and AIDS response within municipal areas, it is integral to have a coordinated approach that includes accurate mapping of all service providers, annual epidemiological quantification of the service delivery need, and accurate service provision information. This information can assist organisations, service providers, government and private sector to better address the HIV and AIDS issues within this community. An initiative of the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD), the Compass Project aims to assist communities to effectively respond to HIV and AIDS by understanding their needs and building their capacities at a community level. To achieve this, the Compass Project combines epidemiological research, community service mapping and organisational development. What you can find on this site Information about the project
